To the abbots of Sweetheart and Holywood, and Bernard Fortis, canon of Segorbe. Mandate to confirm Johne de Merton, rector of the parish church of Racho, St Andrews diocese, D.DEC. in possession of a canonry of Glasgow and the prebend of Glasguprimo, value not exceeding 100 merks sterling. John had been provided to the archdeaconry of Teviotdale and a certain William MacMoryne had been provided to the said canonry and prebend, but wishing an exchange they had resigned their respective benefices outside the curia into the hands of Mathew, bishop of Glasgow, who had received the resignations by ordinary authority and by the same authority had provided John to the canonry and prebend and William to the archdeaconry. John had peacefully possessed the canonry and prebend, but for certain causes had doubted the validity of his provision and he had sought confirmation of his rights which is granted as above, notwithstanding that he is known to hold the said parish church, and that recently Henry, bishop of St Andrews, having been granted faculty to appoint several benefices at his disposal, had reserved to John a benefice with or without cure.

To the official of St Andrews. Mandate to collate Richard Knight, rector of the parish church of Conveth, St Andrews diocese, B. DEC., to the parish church of Rochow, said diocese. This church had been held by Thomas Trayle who had become involved in a dispute with Robert de Moffet, canon of Glasgow, over the parish church of Bothwyl, Glasgow diocese, and when the case was heard by John, abbot of Sweetheart, O.CIST., Thomas, after abusing John and papal justice had withdrawn to Peter de Candia, calling himself Alexander v. As a result, mandatory letters were sent to the official of St Andrews to examine the case and if necessary to deprive Thomas of Rochow; and if Thomas is deprived as a result of this mandate Richard is to have possession, notwithstanding that he is known to hold a canonry of Moray, the prebend of Adwg and Crumdale and the aforesaid parish church of Conveth which, however, on his peaceful assecution to Rochow he is held to demit.

To the official of St Andrews. Mandate to summon and examine Thomas Trayle, rector of the parish church of Rothow, St Andrews diocese, concerning the fact that when cited by Robert de Moffet, canon of Glasgow, to appear before John, abbot of Sweetheart, O.CIST. who had been appointed to settle a dispute over the parish church of Bothwyle which they both claimed by right, Thomas had declared Benedict to be deposed because of his demerits, and has appealed to Peter de Candia, calling himself Alexander v. Thomas is to be deprived of Rothow if this is found to be true.

Alcamcii, Saragossa diocese, 5 Non. Maii, anno 17; expedited, 17 Kal. Jul., anno 17 (15th June 1411).
To the bishop of St Andrews. Mandate to confirm Thomas Trayle, priest, St Andrews diocese, M.A. in possession of a canonry of Moray and the prebend called Adwyetcrimdol, and the parish church of Richou, St Andrews diocese, value not exceeding 80 merks sterling to a non-resident, which he had feared to lose according to Benedict XIII's bull Exonsigat. A dispute had arisen between Thomas and Robert de Moffet, calling himself secular provost of the collegiate church of Bothwyl, Glasgow diocese, concerning the said collegiate church which they both claimed, and the case had been referred to Thomas, abbot of Sweetheart, O.CIST. for settlement. The case for Thomas Trayle was conducted by John de Glasgu, calling himself priest, and he, feeling Thomas was being unfairly treated, appealed to the late Peter Filardi de Candia calling himself Alexander v. Although Thomas had not approved of this, he feared that because of this appeal he would be deprived of the above benefices according to the above bull, and so Thomas and Robert are to be summoned and if it is proven that Thomas has always maintained obedience to the true church then the above confirmation is to be effective.

He is dispensed, however, to hold along with the canonry and prebend of Brechin the said parish church or another benefice with cure obtained in its place even if a dignity or office in a cathedral.

To the abbot of Balmerino, and the officials of Dunkeld and St Andrews. Mandate to summon and examine Alexander de Lawadre, clerk, St Andrews diocese, rector of the parish church of Rathow, St Andrews diocese, value not exceeding £40 old sterling to a non-resident, on a certain charge brought by Ingeram Lindsay, clerk, Glasgow diocese, to the effect that Alexander, holding a canonry and prebend of Glasgow, had been provided to Rathow and although under a mandate to demit the canonry and prebend on his peaceful assecution to Rathow he had refused to do so. If this charge is proven Alexander is to be deprived of Rathow to which Ingeram, kinsman of Alexander, earl of Craufurde, and recently dispensed of his defect of birth as the son of an unmarried nobleman and an unmarried woman to be promoted to all holy orders and to hold a benefice even if with cure, is then to be collated; notwithstanding that he had been provided to the perpetual vicarage of the parish church of Monkton, Glasgow diocese, which, however, on his peaceful assecution to Rathow, and also if in the interim he has been assecuted to the said vicarage, he is to demit, otherwise he is to cede all rights to it.

Sept. anno 22 (16th August 1416) Ingeram de Lindsay, clerk Glasgow diocese, had shown that Alexander had not given up the canonry and prebend although he had obtained possession of Rathow, whereupon mandatory letters were sent, that if this were true Alexander was to be deprived of the said canonry and prebend to which Ingeram was to be collated. The aforesaid letters are declared null and void and Alexander is to demit the canonry and prebend within two months of the date of the presentation of this letter under penalty of losing everything.

Peniscola, Tortosa diocese, 2 Kal. Ja. anno 24.
To the bishop of Candida Casa. Mandate to summon and examine William de Govan, canon of Moray, B. DEC. on a charge brought against him by Alexander de Lawedre to the effect that William was known to be a notorious schismatic. On 3 Non. Jan. anno 22 (3rd January 1416), Alexander, canon of Glasgow, had been provided to the parish church of Rathow, St Andrews diocese, and was held to demit his canonry and prebend of Glasgow to which William was provided, but on 17 Kal. Sept. (16th August) Ingeram de Lindsay, clerk, Glasgow diocese, had shown that Alexander had not given up the canonry and prebend although he had obtained possession of Rathow; whereupon mandatory letters were sent to the abbot of Balmerino and the officials of Dunkeld and St Andrews (unnamed) that if this were true Alexander was to be deprived of the said canonry and prebend to which Ingeram was to be collated. Then on 6 Kal. Dec. (26th November) William had made the same claims and consequently Alexander was ordered to demit the canonry and prebend within two months under the penalty of losing everything, and the aforesaid letters on behalf of Ingeram were declared null and void. Subsequently, however, Alexander had brought the above charge against William and if this is proven he is to be deprived of the said canonry and prebend.
Peniscola, Tortosa diocese, 17 Kal. Apr. anno 24.
To the bishop of Candida Casa. Mandate to collate Alexander de Lauder to a canonry and prebend of Glasgow held by William de Govan if the said William is deprived of the same as a result of a charge brought against him by Alexander (as in Reg Vat 329, 44-45v above), notwithstanding that Alexander is known to hold the parish church of Rathow, St Andrews diocese, and the archdeaconry of Dunkeld.
Peniscola, Tortosa diocese, 17 Kal. Apr. anno 24.
To the bishop of Dunblane. On 3 Non. Jan. anno 22 (3rd January 1416), Alexander de Lawder had been provided to the parish church of Rathow, St Andrews diocese, being held to demit a canonry and prebend of Glasgow on his peaceful assecution to Rathow, and on the same day William de Govan, canon of Moray, was provided to the said canonry and prebend; but on 17 Kal. Sept. anno 23 (16th August 1417), Ingeram Lindsay, clerk, Glasgow diocese, had shown that Alexander had retained the canonry and prebend even after his peaceful assecution to Rathow and therefore mandatory letters were sent to the abbot of Balmerino and the officials of Dunkeld and St Andrews that if this were so Alexander was to be deprived of the canonry and prebend and Ingeram was to be collated to the same. On 6 Kal. Dec. anno 24 (26th November 1417), however William had made a similar claim and mandatory letters were sent for Alexander to demit the canonry and prebend within two months and to pay back to William the fruits of the said canonry and prebend he had received from the day of his peaceful assecution to Rathow, and the letters in favour of Ingeram were not to be expedited by the said mandatories. The letters in favour of William were put into effect and as Alexander had not voluntarily given up the said canonry and prebend within two months, he was deprived of them by the mandatories. Alexander, however, claimed that as he was a student in Paris at this time and ignorant of the letters naming the two month period, he had been unjustly deprived of the said canonry and prebend, whereupon the above mandatory is to summon William and Ingeram and if this is the case then Alexander is to be restored to his previous rights in the case.
Peniscola, Tortosa diocese, 5 ld. Dec. anno 25.
To Alexander de Lawder, archdeacon of Dunkeld, LIC. DEC. Provision of Alexander, of noble birth on both sides, brother of William, bishop of Glasgow, to a canonry of Glasgow and the prebend of Barlanark, value not exceeding £50 Scots, to be vacant on the peaceful assecution of Walter Stewart, canon of Glasgow, to another canonry, prebend and the deanery of Glasgow, to which he has today been provided as a reserve benefice, or vacant in any way other than by the death of the said Walter; notwithstanding that Alexander is known to hold a canonry, prebend and the archdeaconry of Dunkeld and the parish church of Rathow, St Andrews diocese, and that he also claims rights to another canonry of Glasgow and the prebend of Edliston; but on his peaceful assecution to Barlanark he is to demit the canonry, prebend and archdeaconry of Dunkeld and to cede all rights to the canonry and prebend of Edliston.
Peniscola, Tortosa diocese, 3 ld. Dec anno 25.
Concurrent mandate to the abbots of Kelso and Paisley, and the precentor of Segorbe.
To the Bishop of Candida Casa. Mandate to surrogate Thomas de Hay, of noble birth on both sides, 19 years old, second year student of arts, clerk, St Andrews diocese, to all the rights to a canonry and prebend of Glasgow claimed by Alexander de Lawder. On 3 Non. Jan. anno 22 (3rd January 1416), Alexander de Lawder had been provided to the parish church of Ratho, St Andrews diocese, being held to demit the said canonry and prebend on his peaceful assecution to Rathow; on the same day, however, William de Govan, canon of Moray was provided to the said canonry and prebend. But on 17 Kal. Sept. anno 23 (16th August 1417), Ingeram de Lindsay, clerk, Glasgow diocese, had shown that Alexander had retained the canonry and prebend after his peaceful assecution to Rathow, and therefore mandatory letters were sent to the abbot of Balmerino and the officials of Dunkeld and St Andrews that if this were so Alexander was to be deprived of the canonry and prebend, to which Ingeram was to be collated. On 26th November 1417, William had made a similar claim and mandatory letters were sent to Alexander to demit the canonry and prebend within two months and pay back to William the fruits of the said canonry and prebend which he had received from the day of his peaceful assecution to Rathow, and the mandatory letters in favour of Ingeram were not to be put into effect. Subsequently Alexander had shown that William at this time was known as a notorious schismatic and other mandatory letters were sent to the above mandatory that if this were true William was to be deprived of the canonry and prebend to which Alexander was then to be provided; but the previous letters in favour of William were put into effect first and as Alexander, then a student in Paris, had not given up the canonry and prebend within the two months, he was deprived of them. But again mandatory letters were sent to the Bishop of Dunblane to restore justice to Alexander who, however, was subsequently provided to another canonry of Glasgow and the prebend of Barlanark, being held to demit all rights to the canonry and prebend, value not exceeding £40 sterling to a non- resident, to which rights Thomas de Hay is to be surrogated as above.
Peniscola, Tortosa diocese, Kal. Jan. anno 25.
